Center of Arab Woman for Training And Research CAWTAR
Who an pretend to know well enough what the real situation of the Arab woman is? Is this situation similar or differences? How we fix what goes wrong, if we did not know how women in our country are coping with their daily difficulties, as compared with what women elsewhere are doing? How could we know what was achieved in various Arab countries, if we knew little about statistics, research results, programs and policies already set up or projected by Governments, regional and international institutions and by NGO's?
It is attempt to answer these questions and much more that the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTER) was created back in 1993. it is located in Tunis , Tunisia , as an independent international institution, working on a regional basis. Its missions: undertaking research and producing academic finding and reports on Arab women and the issues affecting them, implement their policies and projects.
CAWTAR works with governments, NGO's ,research centers, UN, regional and international institutions. Its objectives can be summed up in one phrase-serving the Arab woman, as well as the Arab men, by knowing them better. That is the gender approach.
